August 2003 Prayerletter

Dear Friends

It is so great to be back in Bolivia! Our time in Canada was very worthwhile and we believe that it was all in God's perfect timing. We thank the Lord that He brought us back here safely and without any trouble. We are thankful to the Lord that my Dad is doing great after his heart attack and that we were able to spend quality time with him and the rest of my family.

Upon returning to Bolivia, the PIONEERS Bolivian Field held our annual Spiritual Retreat. What a time of refreshment it was. We were challenged from God's Word and had time to catch up with others on the Mission Team. Patrick had a great time with the other children and swimming in the pool at the place where we stayed.

Lily, the Boys and I settled back into Bolivian life quite easily. It was nice to come home to the apartment that God provided for us and only have to unpack our suitcases that we brought from Canada. Thank you again to all of you that prayed so that we could have this apartment. After a little dusting, we picked up just where we left off when we locked the door three months before.

I am deep in Quechua Study again with my informant, Feliciano. We are studying through a Quechua Chronological Bible Study prepared by Cameron Hurst of New Tribes. This is helping me increase my Quechua Vocabulary and is giving me opportunity to use this same study with Quechua Men and Women. Please continue to pray for my fluency in the Quechua language.

Also, please be praying for the Paja People of the Cochabamba Valley. They are folks who have come from the countryside to sell “Paja” or grass used for stucco construction. The Lord has burdened our hearts for these people. We are making contacts with them now in hopes to be able to share the Word of God with them and with their children. Please pray that the Holy Spirit will soften their hearts to the Gospel of the Grace of God.

We are ever thankful to God for all of you and for the great part you play in reaching the lost Quechua of Bolivia. May God continue to bless you and to provide for you both spiritually and materially.

Only through Him,

Greg and Lily Muir
