Dear friends
It is a pleasure to be able to write you again. We have been thinking of you and praying God's richest blessings on each of you and your families. The days are warmer here in Bolivia as winter has almost finished. The rain will begin to fall again soon.

We enjoy being involved in what God is doing here in Bolivia with the Quechua People. It is truly the work of His hands and of His Spirit. Sometimes we think, “What do we have to offer? Are we really the right choices?” We leave all this in God's hands though. He has only asked us to give Him what we have and who we are. It is Christ that will build His Church and God who will save lost men and women.

The Quechua Bible and Hymnbook project is going well. Thanks to all those who have given, we have seen more than 150 hymnbooks and 50 Quechua Bibles go into the hands of Christians throughout the San Pedro area. Now these Christians of great need have a greater opportunity to read and study God's Word and to participate in praising the Name of the Lord through song.

We also want to thank those of you who give faithfully monthly, quarterly, bi-yearly or however you have chosen to give. We in no way want to be more of a burden to you folks but we feel it necessary to make our financial need known at this time. The truth is that our monthly support has been falling month by month. This last month was the lowest so far since we came to the field over three years ago. Our support has reached a level that is almost $1000 Cdn below what PIONEERS recommends. The fact of the matter is that our support at this point is really too low to be able to continue effectively the ministry here in Bolivia. We are praying that God will raise the necessary monthly support for us to stay here in Bolivia and minister to the Quechua People. We have not been able to receive work funds for ministry for well over a year now and so all ministry expenses must be taken from our living allowance. With the addition of Andres our son, we have more expenses but instead of an increase in support we have seen a decrease.

We continue to trust the Lord to bring in the necessary funds to see His ministry go forward. We believe it is His will that we are here and so we believe He will do the impossible at this time to keep us here. We have chosen to let you all know so you can be praying with us and to give opportunity for you to give. If there are any of you who are reading this that would like to give towards our ministering to the Quechua People of Bolivia please contact either the Canadian or US PIONEERS office. Our account there is #1056. The addresses and telephone numbers are found at the bottom of this letter.

The truth is that the needs are great but we are trusting God that He will richly bless all of you for the sacrifices you make to see the Gospel preached to all Tribe and Tongue. We will be praying that God moves in a special way among His People to see this job completed.

Serving Our Lord with You,

Greg and Lily Muir

Dear Friends

It is a privilege to be able to write you again so soon after our last letter. We are doing well and the Lord has been very gracious to us.
In the month of March we asked you to be praying about a possible move for our family to the city of Sucre. Well, the Lord has closed that door for the time being and has opened a door of opportunity in and around the Village of San Pedro de Buena Vista. We thank all of you who prayed with us about this move. The Lord opened our eyes to the great needs and lack of opportunities in San Pedro and so we have committed ourselves to 7 months of intense work in and around this Village. For more information and pictures check out our webpage at http://www.missionsbolivia.org .
There are many needs for this ministry to go forward and we would like to ask for your prayers and financial support in the following areas:

  1. One time gift - A sleeping bag for a countryside Pastor. $30 USD Can be purchased here.
  2. Quechua Bibles ($11 USD) and Quechua Hymn books ($3 USD).
  3. Monthly Travel and Vehicle upkeep expenses. ($200 USD monthly).

Please be praying about these needs. God is providing opportunities for us to regularly and on a growing measure go into Quechua mountain villages with the Gospel. Friendships are forming and opportunities are numerous. In order for us to do this with any consistency, we need additional support to cover the added costs of transportation.  Would you prayerfully consider helping us with this need? Both one-time and monthly gifts will help. Through God's help, we want to impact this area for Christ and instill in these Countryside Churches a Missionary Vision so that in turn many churches will be planted and strengthened throughout the San Pedro area. Please contact us if you have a desire to help out in any one of these areas mentioned above or contact your Country's PIONEERS' Office (addresses below).

We thank God for you and pray that God will bless you, your family and churches richly. Thank you again and may God continue to work in the lives of all of us.

Because of Him,

Greg and Lily Muir

Prayer Letter March 2004

March, 2004

Dear Friends
We pray that God has been blessing each one of you and the Local Churches you attend. We apologize that it has taken us so long to send this news letter out. We want to better prioritize our communication with you all.

Our family is doing well. Andres is now walking and Patrick will be finishing up kindergarten in the next couple of months. Lily continues to help some of the newer missionaries in their quest to learn the Spanish Language. She really enjoys the interaction with the other ladies.

I (Greg) continue to seek opportunities to share the Word of God in Quechua. I am planning to take some more language classes in the next few months in order to better be able to communicate in Quechua. Lily and I are also involved in a new Church Plant further up the hill from our house. We are involved in teaching on Sundays and discipleship of some of the new leaders.

We have a special prayer request for you folks. We are praying about the possibility of moving to the city of Sucre, Bolivia. The Lord has placed this on our hearts for some time now and we are willing to pursue the idea. We believe this will be of much benefit to our family and ministry here in Bolivia. Most of all, it will take us closer to the Quechua people and to the unreached areas where they live. Sucre is a considerably smaller city than Cochabamba that has maintained the small town aspects that we love. Please be praying for this decision as we would most likely make a move in June or July. We, as a family, will make at least two trips prior to this move in order to meet other missionaries working there and secure housing.

We are encouraged with what the Lord is doing in Bolivia with the Quechua people and we are constantly reminded that there is so much more to do. Pray also that we will remain focused in the ministry that God has called us to. We believe that people with greatest need and least opportunities need to be our utmost priority.

Thank you so much for your involvement in the ministry amongst the Quechua People. We thank God for you and pray his richest blessing on each of you. Please let us know how you are by dropping us a line when you have a chance.

In Christ alone,

Greg and Lily Muir
