Dear Friends,

It is with great joy and excitement that we write you this update. We give thanks to Our God for all the great and mighty things that He is doing here in Bolivia.

  1. Praise God for a Quechua Missionary, sent to the Quechua People, supported by the Bolivian Church. He has been working in the needy area of Tinquipaya for the past three years and is seeing fruit in a place where the Gospel was not being preached. We had the opportunity to support his ministry by distributing 600 radios in Tinquipaya with a group of Christians from Canada. Praise the Lord that more folks have the opportunity to hear.
  2. God be praised for the Local Churches in the Potosi district who are giving themselves to pray and give towards missions and the Lords work locally. It is a joy for me, Greg, to be able to support these churches monthly with teaching on Missions and the Church.
  3. We thank the Lord for the funds that He has provided so far for our Vehicle Fund through you, His People. At the first of April, there was $10,000 Cdn in the Fund. We have our eye on a 1996 Toyota Land Cruiser that will be perfect for the job of travelling in the Bolivian Countryside and it is around $17,000 Cdn. Please pray for the needed $7000 to come in. We had to replace the spark plug wires on our present vehicle when the team from Canada was here. Thank the Lord that the spark plug wires failed on the way to the airport at the end of the team's time here and not in the countryside!
  4. We are thankful for Patrick's school this year in Sucre. It has been a chore for him to adjust to the system but he is doing great now. Keep up the great work Patrick! We are praying about schooling options for both of our boys for the future. One idea was to home school them both but for that we would like to have someone help Lily. Perhaps you, someone from your church or someone you know may be interested in doing a short term experience in Bolivia, helping with the home schooling of Patrick and Andres? For further information on this, please drop us a line at: heringo@hotmail.com .
  5. Thank God for the opportunities to affect young ladies lives through Discipleship. Lily has been working at a Pregnancy Crisis Center doing pre-natal classes and counselling for expecting single mothers. She also is excited about discipling young ladies who will become the leaders of women's Bible Studies. Please pray that God will work in these ladies hearts during the next 8 weeks. Upon finishing the 8 week study, they will begin their own groups.

Thank you for your partnership with us in this mission to reach the Quechua People with the Gospel. It is so encouraging to sense your support of us and of the ministry. Please be encouraged by what God is doing and be spurred on to pray more for the Lord's work here in Bolivia. Thank you so much for continued involvement. May God richly bless you all.

In His service,
Greg, Lily Patrick and Andres

Dear Friends

It is with great joy that we send out this update to you. Our God is so good and we want to give testimony to His goodness. Let me just get started…

First of all, we give thanks to our God and to all of you who participated in the campaign to raise funds for our replacement vehicle. Well, we did it!!! Yes, with the funds that came in, we were able to purchase a 1995 Mitsubishi Montero 4X4. We believe that this vehicle will aid us in our countryside travels, sharing the Word of God through preaching, movies and the Little Red Radio Ministry. If you have internet access, you can check out the photos of the new “Monty” at http://www.missionsbolivia.org/new_monty.html

Second of all, the Lord has been giving us clear guidance in our ministries. It is wonderful to sense the Lord's leading as he brings our Bolivian Brothers to us with different ministry opportunities and clear visions.

  1. ·        We have been enjoying many opportunities in our home church here in Sucre to minister to the Church body and encourage them towards missions amongst the Quechua People. Lily has been working with a struggling Women's Group and I continue to support the Quechua Sunday School class and Worship Service. We also traveled to a Quechua village where our church has been seeking to plant a new work for the past number of months. There are now 10 adults and 20 children who meet weekly. We pray that the Lord will provide more opportunities to support this sprouting work in the village of Rodeo.
  2. ·        The Churches in and around the city of Potosi continue to grow and desire to be more involved in Missions and Church Planting. The Lord has blessed us with the privilege of encouraging these churches and partnering with them to reach other Quechua villages with the Gospel. We are already planning further trips to distribute the little red solar powered radios alongside of our Quechua Brothers and Sisters of Potosi. Each month we also have the opportunity to speak in one of the nine Christian Evangelical Union churches of the city of Potosi and on the first Monday of each month there is a Joint Service of all nine churches. These are wonderful times.
  3. ·        The near future brings some other opportunities to minister to Quechua People. In the month of September, my Dad, Alex Muir, will be bringing a team from Canada and the U.S to distribute the little Red Radios in the locality of Carasi in Northern Potosi. Lord willing, 500 Solar Powered radios will go into the hands of 500 families, needy to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Will you pray that God will be preparing hearts, even right now, to receive His Good News? Please also be praying for the details of my Dad's team to come together?
  4. ·        Another amazing opportunity that has come about is the invitation to participate in a Missions Conference in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Can you imagine that there are 23 “Bolivian Churches” with over 5000 members in the Buenos Aires region? These are the result of the Migration of Bolivians to Argentina in search of work. We have been asked to travel to Argentina to share with the Brethren there of the Work that the Lord is doing amongst the Quechua People in Bolivia and to encourage those now living in Argentina to be involved in Missions where they are and abroad. Please be praying for God's guidance as I prepare for several sessions and for funds to be able to travel to Argentina and back.

It is a joy to be able to share these things with you. I just want to close by mentioning Cesar, a young man whose name was just recently written in the Lamb's Book of Life. He lives in the village of Rodeo in Potosi. A few weeks ago when we stood together on the dirt road that runs through Rodeo
, I heard him pray the words, “My God, I want to be your child. Please forgive me of my sins and come and live in my heart.” When I ask myself, “Is it really worth it? All the hours of language learning, being away from my Home Country, family and friends…Is it worth it?”, the Lord answers me by reminding me of the cross and then bringing the faces of many lost Quechuas to my mind.
It is worth it all!

Love in Christ,

Greg and Lily Muir
